TRADITIONAL PREPARATION

Each board is prepared specifically for Orthodox and Byzantine iconography.

The wooden panel is reinforced with hardwood splines for stability. Pavoloka is applied beneath the traditional Levkas/Gesso surface, which is carefully prepared and sanded to create a smooth and absorbent painting field.
