Each board is individually handmade in our family workshop in Pochaiv, Ukraine, where we have specialized in traditional icon boards for over 17 years.

Materials

Both versions are handcrafted using carefully selected kiln-dried hardwoods for excellent stability and durability.

Traditional Levkas
The painting surface is prepared according to traditional Orthodox iconographic methods using:

• Natural linen Pavoloka

• Traditional Levkas (gesso)

• Natural chalk

• Animal-hide glue

The sides and back receive a protective impregnation that enhances durability while preserving the natural beauty of the wood.
