This handcrafted triptych is made from Premium class Solid Black Wenge inserts on the back. The icon board features a recessed panel (kovcheg) in accordance with traditional iconographic canons.
Classic Levkas Gesso is ready for icon painting. The surface is coated with several layers of gesso — a mixture of natural chalk and glue — creating a perfectly smooth base suitable for tempera and oil painting.
Unlike standard models, this triptych is gessoed not only on the inner side but also on the outer surfaces of the side panels (doors).

The triptych is equipped with metal hardware. Several options for hinges are available.
