This handcrafted wooden triptych is made from solid linden wood, with oak inserts on the reverse for added structural integrity. The icon board includes a recessed panel (kovcheg), in keeping with the traditional format used in iconography.
The surface is smoothly sanded and ready for further preparation. It is not primed with gesso (levkas), giving artists the flexibility to apply their own ground layer according to preferred technique or tradition.
Equipped with metal fittings — hinges and clasps — for convenient and stable use.
An excellent choice for iconographers, woodworkers, or those seeking a traditional, handcrafted wooden base for custom projects.
