handpainted icon Christ Pantocrator of Sina

Size: 21x30cm (8.3x11.8in)
The image is created on a hand-carved icon board with kovcheg, made of solid linden wood. The surface is prepared with traditional gesso (levkas) — a blend of chalk and glue.

The icon is painted in egg tempera and embellished with 23k gold . It is finished with three layers of natural varnish to ensure longevity and protection.

We only use natural materials such as wooden board, gesso (chalk ground), egg tempera and gold leaf.
