This icon of St. John the Baptist (Ioann Predtecha) It is carefully worked according to the style and criteria required by the old Byzantine school of iconography

The image is created on a hand-carved icon board with kovcheg, made of solid linden wood. The surface is prepared with traditional gesso (levkas) — a blend of chalk and glue.

The icon is painted in egg tempera and embellished with 23k gold background. It is finished with three layers of natural varnish to ensure longevity and protection.

We only use natural materials such as wooden board, gesso (chalk ground), egg tempera and gold leaf.
